Introduction
Presented at the 16th edition of India Art Fair, Medium as the Muse explored the material as a site of inquiry and inspiration. From delicate, detailed strokes to resistant, weight-bearing forms, the exhibition traced how artists respond to the distinct properties of their chosen mediums. Each piece reflects a layered engagement—where texture, form, and gesture become portals to reflection, shaped as much by the material as by the maker.

Overview
The artist, the creationist, draws from the essence of their medium—a tangible, dynamic exchange that transcends technique. Through the work of artists from across Asia—GOMA, Harsha Durugadda, Mari Ito, Motoi Yamamoto, Pannaphan Yodmanee, Shun Sudo, and Tarini Sethi—this dialogue becomes an act of breathing life into form. Each piece is an echo of the inner world, where material acts not only as muse, but as mirror, vessel, and collaborator in the unfolding of meaning.
