GEEK PICTURES Inc. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Tamotsu Kosano) announces that PUSHPA: THE RULE (Japanese title: Pushpa Kunrin), which it will co-distribute with Shochiku, is set for an emergency release on Friday, January 16, 2026. Pushpa: The Rule has surpassed Baahubali and RRR, grossing approximately 33 billion yen worldwide to become the No.1 mega-hit in the history of Indian cinema. At the 13th South Indian International Movie Awards, it achieved major success in India, winning five awards in the Telugu-language category—including Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Director—outperforming even Kalki 2898-AD.

The film stars Allu Arjun, the iconic leading figure of Telugu cinema, in the role of Pushpa. It also features acclaimed Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil as police officer Shekhawat, and popular South Indian actress Rashmika Mandanna as Pushpa’s wife, Srivalli. The film is written and directed by Sukumar, one of the leading hitmakers of Telugu cinema. This dynamic, globe-spanning action epic—from India to Japan and beyond—will have an emergency release in Japan on Friday, January 16, 2026. 

GEEK PICTURES Inc. engages in a wide range of visual production and international business initiatives. In 2019, the company established its Indian subsidiary, Geek Pictures Pvt. Ltd., and in July of this year reached an agreement to form a business partnership with AA Films, one of India’s leading film distributors. Through this partnership, GEEK PICTURES has secured the rights to distribute AA Films’ theatrical and visual works in Japan. Pushpa: The Rule will be the first release under this new collaboration.
